Our maladies have made us opposites. Alan stands and walks; I sit and recline. He must go out; I must stay in. He is alone; I am not. He types for me; I don’t do anything for him. Alan won’t like that I said that. We are friends. We both have trouble washing our feet.

The cursive text in this cartoon is a poem by Alan. The text inside the frames is excerpted from his letters to me. You will need to click to enlarge to a legible size. Alan says this is the first bath he has taken in many years.
